5. Seeking Solace - November 23, 2010

Monday, November 29, 2010

I hope the weather is good where you are. Here in St. Louis, it's cold and rainy. I'm reminded of the lyrics, "rainy days and Mondays always get me down."  When I was teaching days like this seemed to last forever. The kids were lethargic and all any of us wanted to do was take a nap.

I don't have the energy to do anything. My plans included making an ATC or two. Instead I'll show you the ones that I've completed for the challenge.

Time for a couple of new cards; blood and stripes. Blood was not easy. I thought of drawing blood, blood bath, blood bank but dismissed them all. Others were too gory while others just didn't grab me. I hope what I did puts a smile on your face.

I hate to explain art because I believe the viewer is intelligent enough to figure it out. If not, let them wonder about it for a lifetime.

It’s amazing how easy it is to post now that I have something interesting. Before I show you the new cards, I have to tell you what I learned today. Life’s rule #587: Never nod off with a cup of hot coffee in your hand. That’s right, I was watching television with a cup of coffee. The next thing I knew the coffee was on my leg. It did not feel good either.

Okay, now to my cards.

25. Trouble Lurking

37. Eyes

62. Magic

87. Food

A complete list of  the 100 topics and other participants in the challenge can be found on Mary Walker's blog.
