I want everyone to appreciate what a beautiful day every day is. This morning at 1 am I was cutting parts for a card. I’d already cut them twice. Once I forgot to change the pressure and the second time I realized they were too small. After that I went to bed.
I woke up and read emails and piddled around while waiting for the ribbon I ordered yesterday to arrive. (No, I didn’t pay a fortune for next day delivery, only 3.99.) I went to the club room and talked with one of my neighbors. I went to the office after talking with the mail carrier and Gigi gave me my package. GREAT! In my apartment, I looked at the label and knew it wasn’t my ribbon; it wasn’t. I pick up a second package. Not my ribbon, this time it was one of those new ribbon cutters. I call the office. Gigi meets me at the top of the steps, “I was joking when I said give me a call if you need anything else.” The property manager comes by and listens to what happened. This time I decide to open the box. Guess what? You’re right, it wasn’t the ribbon. Gigi goes back and moves all of the boxes and finds a small one. My ribbon. It’s funny that the only one that was hard to find was the package I paid shipping on. The other 3 boxes (small) were parts of one Amazon order with free shipping. Oh, the mail carrier returned one of my cards as ‘undeliverable’!  Now it’s time for a nap!
I’ve had a wonderful day.

I finished my black and white cards, made a dozen or so Valentine's Day cards and a special birthday card for my honorary grandchild who's turning three. (long story)  I've always known that Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day come after Christmas, but until recently, I didn't know I'd one day get tired of red and green! I used to love red. Maybe that's why I like making cards for Christmas and Valentine's day, but right now I think I'd scream a silent scream if someone asked me to make a red card! I'll probably feel the same way about green in a month!

My next project is 3 ATCs for  the 'Art from the Heart' swap. I'm thinking dogs. Maybe Santa on the beach. I haven't really decided yet. I'm getting in the Easter spirit. I'm not doing too many bunnies and eggs this year. I'm hoping for quilled crosses and cards with scripture.

Happy New Year!

I didn't make any resolutions, but I do want to blog more frequently. Every nine months, just won't get it. The problem is always what to write about. No one is interested in my boring life. Seriously, I'm dull. I have one son who's married, but no grandchildren so I can't even brag about them. I like crafts; especially making cards and ATCs. I've got a bag of paper maiche that's been waiting for me to do something with one day. I took the bag out of the closet hoping that would motivate me. Didn't happen.

I'm going to ramble about anything that comes to my mind. Hopefully my thoughts will last long enough for me to string a few coherent sentences together. Wishful thinking.

I have a few projects I'm working on. One is an ATC swap using just black and white. I was excited to see this one posted. After all, who can't do this? Me! I've made six cards and only one I like. Tomorrow, I'll show you what I've done, but for now, it's time for lunch.

Lazy Eye

I'm a lazy blogger. I readily admit to it and can't think of a good excuse for it because I like to write. When my muse isn't playing around at some place like Disney World I'm prolific. Right now, she's on vacation and won't return messages. I even tried to text her, but that too went unanswered.

I decided to write something here instead. Now I understand why students had problems with being told to write. About what? How do I start? I don't have anything to say! So I started giving them prompts and pictures. Sure enough that helped. The stranger the better, especially for the older kids. Sometimes I even let them give me topics to write about.

Well today I'm going to write about an eye. Specifically an eye that has been giving me problems for days. The eye was for my cat. I recognize my propensity for losing things, so I cut 4 cats. Each cat has two eyes, so I started with four right eyes and four left eyes. In a pinch, a left eye can become a right eye, theoretically eight eyes. Now explain to me how I ended up with a cat that had a pupil missing. I should have said pupil instead of eye. I was getting ready to scan the card to add to my 100 card challenge only to discover an incomplete eye. “Not a problem,” I say to myself. “I have more.” That wasn’t the case. All of the pupils were missing. I tried to cut one by hand, but it wasn’t quite right!

Luck was on my side. My great aunt called on Sunday and while talking to her, I spotted the pupil. I put it on my laptop to attach later. When I went to do that, it was gone! Vanished! I don’t really like the cat now but I cut a new cat, just for the pupil. Here he is finally 23. Cat!

I’ve made several new cards but haven’t posted them here! These won’t have dates on them, but I don’t think anyone will really mind the omission.

I've completed almost half of the cards!

We have just one week left before Christmas! I finally got all of my cards mailed. Making the cards has taken most of November and December, but I think the effort was well worth it.

Yesterday I finally found time to get back to the challenge. Here are my latest.
